I know it's been 10 days or so since Valentines Day but I've been pretty busy and haven't had time to post anything. However, I thought I might share Heidi and I's Valentines Day fun. To start, Heidi and I have never really liked Valentines Day. I guess we figure we can love each other on the 13th and 15th just as much as we can on the 14th. That being said, we still decided to go out. Taking a cue from the Kelly's (Thanks DK and Morgan) we decided to go to Chick Fillet. I know, I know, I shouldn't splurge so much on my lovely bride. I had heard they do some sort of celebration every year but I didn't really know anything about it. So when we arrived at our local store we were surprised to find out that not only was there a twenty minute wait to get in, but you were supposed to have reservations. I had to go back outside and look at the sign to make sure it was Chick Fillet and not the Grove Park Inn. So after waiting twenty minutes we finally made our way to the hostess and she was able to "work us in". So a bit later we finally get a seat and order our gourmet meal of chicken nuggets and waffle fries. While waiting on our dinner we were approached by a photographer from the local paper who of course wanted to take a picture of our romantic love filled dinner. We agreed, although I wasn't really that thrilled about it. Two days later, sure enough, we are on the front page of the "Living" section of our local paper. So I went out and bought a couple of copies to keep for ourselves, not realizing the madness coming our way. I could of very easily waited and saved the dollar I spent on the paper.
Sunday: No less then 8 copies given to us from various church members. Also it was announced in our post service business. This prompted questions from about 25 different people.
Monday: 4 more copies given to us at work and questions from about 10 coworkers.
Tuesday: I visit my favorite local restaurant Beef O' Brady's. As I sit down at the bar (relax, I drink sweet tea) I am shown the picture now posted at the bar for all to see. I'm told that it's proof that I have been cheating with another restaurant.
Wednesday: Back to church we go where 4 more copies of the picture find their way into my hands and a few more explanations of what went down.
Thursday: Two more copies given to me at work. At this point I take the pictures, autograph them, all my love, Danny Baddeley and give them back.
All I can really say is I guess I'm lucky not to be a celebrity. Of course, the worst part is, and I knew it was going to happen, but even after confirming the spelling of my last name, twice. The paper still misspelled it. They left off the Y.

Tomorrow is Holiday
Yes, I know it's Valentines day but thats not the real holiday. Thursday is when pitchers and catchers reports for Major League Baseball training camp. I know it probably doesn't seem like much to most people, but to me, it's the start of the holiday season. It's hard to explain to someone who isn't into baseball, but to those who are you understand. Baseball has a magical kind of feeling, all sports are great but baseball has something the others don't. I can't even really explain it other than to say this is one of my favorite days of the year. It gets even better on Opening Day, that's my Christmas. I will take half a day off and come home and watch baseball until midnight. Until then, it's practice games and watching Field of Dreams. GO TRIBE!!!

Movies your embarrased to admit you like?
Ok, It's hard to say it, but I like the Dirty Dancing. Yes, it's a big ole chick flick but I don't care. I know it's full of adultery, rebellion, abortion and of course, all that dancing but I can't help it. I just dig this flick. I'm not even sure why, I don't like to dance and even if I did I wouldn't because I'm pretty sure I would look really, really bad. Anyway, I bought it on DVD not to long ago because I got tired of having to watch it whenever it came on tv. So I ask the question, what movie or tv show for that matter are you embarrassed to admit you like?

Deer Crossing
About two months ago my mom purchased an almost brand new Honda Civic which she loved so very much. Last night while driving home from the grocery store with Mema (my grandmother) in the car, a deer ran across the four lane right into the front of my mom's car. Needless to say my moms car is no longer in mint condition. Thankfully neither mom or Mema were hurt. I haven't seen the car yet but from what I understand it smashed the hood over the front window and sufficiently rearranged the various parts of the engine. Mom was able to drive the car home (about 1/4 mile) and park in her garage for the night. It has now been towed and we will see if it's totaled or not. In every situation there is a bright side, although it may be hard to see sometimes, but when one of my mom's coworkers heard about the accident she promptly go in her truck and went to the scene of the accident and retrieved the deer, that sat on the side of the road all night. Mom was informed that this was "good eating". So at least mom was able to feed a hungry family, but I suggested the next time she go deer hunting she should use a rifle and not a Honda. If I can get pictures of the car I will post them. Thank God my mother and grandmother are fine.
